Terms of Use

Last updated: 12 August 2026

These terms govern your use of TrustBro (“we”, “us”, “our”), a construction hiring marketplace connecting tradies and hiring roles. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Profile Unlock and Refund Policy.

Acceptance and eligibility

  • by using TrustBro you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy;
  • you must be legally capable of using the service;
  • the information you supply must be accurate and kept up to date; and
  • accounts must not be shared, transferred or misused.

TrustBro's role

TrustBro is a technology marketplace. We are not the employer, recruiter, builder, contractor or agent of any user. Users make their own hiring and work decisions.

  • we do not guarantee workers, jobs, replies or outcomes;
  • you must independently verify licences, qualifications, insurance, references, work rights and suitability before hiring or accepting work; and
  • an uploaded document (such as a licence or qualification proof) is supplied by the user — it is not government-verified or TrustBro-verified.

Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • provide truthful information;
  • only upload content and documents you have permission to upload;
  • comply with your own licensing, safety, employment, tax and contractor obligations;
  • use unlocked contact information only for legitimate hiring or work purposes;
  • not harass, scrape, spam or misuse anyone’s personal information;
  • not bypass Profile Unlock controls;
  • not manipulate endorsements or trust signals; and
  • not create fake accounts or impersonate others.

Endorsements and trust signals

  • endorsements are opinions supplied by users, not verified facts;
  • trust scores and signals help organise information — they are not guarantees of quality, safety or suitability;
  • we may remove endorsements that appear suspicious, abusive or misleading; and
  • coordinated or fake endorsements are prohibited;
  • trust levels are not a background check, licence check or professional assessment; and
  • where a profile shows proof is attached to a qualification or licence, that means the tradie uploaded a file — it does not mean TrustBro verified, validated or approved that credential. We do not guarantee that any endorsement, credential or uploaded document is accurate or current, and you should make your own checks before engaging anyone.

The detailed weighting used to calculate trust signals is not published.

Discovery order and visibility

  • profiles shown to Hiring Roles are ordered by us using signals such as trust level, profile evidence, stated availability, recent activity and a rotation that varies the order over time — they are not shown newest-first;
  • a higher position is not a recommendation, certification or guarantee by TrustBro about that tradie;
  • we do not guarantee that your profile will be discoverable, appear in any particular position, be seen by any particular Hiring Role, or produce any enquiry, application, reply, hire or income;
  • you have no contractual entitlement to a particular position in discovery;
  • ordering can change at any time, and position cannot be bought; and
  • we do not publish the internal details of how ordering is calculated, and attempting to manipulate it is a breach of these terms.

Automated content checks

  • we run automated checks over certain text and file names to keep contact details locked until a valid Profile Unlock and to protect tradies whose identity is still hidden;
  • a submission may be blocked where it appears to contain contact details such as a phone number, email address, web address or social handle;
  • on locked screens a tradie’s own known name may be displayed as neutral wording such as “this tradie” — the stored content itself is not rewritten;
  • these checks are automated and best-effort. They will not catch every possible phrasing, and you must not rely on them as a guarantee; and
  • deliberately working around them — including obfuscating contact details or arranging contact to avoid Profile Unlocks — is prohibited.

Jobs and applications

  • job posts are supplied by users;
  • tradies may apply once they meet the eligibility rules in force at the time, and may attach an optional note of up to 500 characters;
  • an application note is written by the applicant, belongs to that single application, cannot be changed after submission, and is visible to the applicant and the Hiring Role that owns the job post;
  • notes are user-authored and are not verified by TrustBro, and submitting an application does not guarantee contact, engagement or employment;
  • a Hiring Role may ask applicants to include a rate or quote for a job. Providing one is always optional, and an application is never rejected by TrustBro for leaving it out;
  • a rate or quote is indicative information supplied by the applicant. Submitting, changing or viewing one does not create a contract, is not an offer capable of acceptance, does not mean the Hiring Role has accepted it, and creates no obligation on either party to proceed;
  • an applicant may change their rate while the job is still open. Earlier amounts are kept, and the parties remain responsible for agreeing the final rate, scope and terms directly between themselves; and
  • asking for, or providing, a rate or quote does not determine whether a person is an employee or an independent contractor. TrustBro makes no assessment of employment status, and that question is for the parties and their own advisers;
  • we do not guarantee the accuracy, safety or continuing availability of any job post;
  • users are responsible for their own negotiations, agreements, payment terms, workplace safety and legal compliance; and
  • applying for a job does not automatically reveal a tradie’s private contact information — contact details stay locked until a valid Profile Unlock.
  • a Hiring Role is responsible for the content of its own job posts, including anything shown on a public job page;
  • anyone who shares a job link is responsible for where they share it, and a link cannot necessarily be recalled once it has been sent or forwarded; and
  • we may remove a job post, or disable public access to job pages, for safety, abuse or policy reasons.

Profile Unlocks

The current Profile Unlock model works like this:

  • completed Hiring Roles receive 3 free Profile Unlocks each calendar month;
  • the free allowance refreshes at the start of each calendar month, measured in Australian Eastern Time (Sydney);
  • unused free Profile Unlocks do not carry over — each month starts at 3, they do not accumulate;
  • after those are used, 5 additional Profile Unlocks cost $29 AUD (the price of the pack of five — not the price of one profile);
  • purchased Profile Unlocks do not expire under the current MVP model, stack across purchases, and are not affected by the monthly free refresh;
  • free Profile Unlocks are used before purchased Profile Unlocks;
  • reopening a profile already unlocked by the same Hiring Role does not consume another unlock;
  • one Profile Unlock reveals the tradie’s name, mobile number, resume and proof files where uploaded — it does not reveal their email address, and anything the tradie never uploaded is simply not there to reveal; and
  • a Profile Unlock does not guarantee a reply, interview, work agreement, successful hire or suitability.

Prices may change prospectively. Profile Unlocks you have already purchased remain subject to the terms that applied when you acquired them, unless the law requires otherwise. Refunds are covered in the Profile Unlock and Refund Policy.

Shared profile links

Tradies can create temporary external links that show selected profile information to people outside TrustBro. If you use or receive these links:

  • only share information and documents you have the right to share, and only send a link to people you intend to receive it;
  • recipients must not misuse, scrape, republish or sell personal information accessed through a shared link;
  • shared information remains user supplied — a shared profile does not guarantee identity, skill, licence validity, suitability, safety, a response or any work outcome;
  • links expire automatically and the Tradie can revoke them at any time;
  • TrustBro may disable shared links or the sharing feature for safety, abuse or moderation reasons; and
  • shared profile links are free and separate from paid Profile Unlocks — viewing a shared profile never consumes a Profile Unlock and never reveals information the Tradie did not select; and
  • recent endorser details on a shared profile are shown only to a signed-in TrustBro user who also holds the valid link — signing in does not remove the need for the link, and endorser contact details are never shown.

Prohibited conduct

You must not use TrustBro for:

  • unlawful or fraudulent activity;
  • discrimination or harassment;
  • fraudulent profiles or job posts;
  • scraping or reselling personal information;
  • sharing unlocked information without a legitimate purpose;
  • uploading malicious files or content;
  • unauthorised security testing; or
  • bypassing payments or access controls.

Your content

You own your content. By uploading it you give TrustBro a limited licence to host, display, process and transmit that content only as reasonably needed to operate the service, provide the features you request, maintain security and improve the product. We do not claim ownership of your content.

Suspension and removal

We may restrict, suspend or remove content or accounts where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, abuse, safety, security, legal requirements or serious policy violations. We aim to act fairly, but we cannot promise advance notice in every case.

Service availability and liability

  • TrustBro is an MVP (an early-stage product) and may experience errors or interruptions;
  • continuous availability is not guaranteed;
  • nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded; and
  • our liability remains subject to the Australian Consumer Law and other mandatory protections.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
